Dynamic closest color warping to sort and compare palettes

چکیده

A color palette is one of the simplest and most intuitive descriptors that can be extracted from images or videos. This paper proposes a method to assess similarity between palettes by sorting colors. While previous measures compare only colors without considering overall combination, we sort minimize geometric distance align them share common tendency. We propose dynamic closest warping (DCCW) calculate minimum sum graph connecting in other palette. evaluate proposed DCCW with several datasets demonstrate outperforms methods terms accuracy computing time. validate effectiveness technique conducting perceptual study, which indicates clear preference for results our approach. also useful applications enabled DCCW, including interpolation, navigation, image recoloring.

Color Orchestra: Ordering Color Palettes for Interpolation and Prediction

Color theme or color palette can deeply influence the quality and the feeling of a photograph or a graphical design. Although color palettes may come from different sources such as online crowd-sourcing, photographs and graphical designs, in this paper, we consider color palettes extracted from fine art collections, which we believe to be an abundant source of stylistic and unique color themes....

HCL-Based Color Palettes in R

The package colorspace provides various functions providing perceptually-based color palettes for coding categorical data (qualitative palettes) and numerical variables (sequential and diverging palettes). We illustrate how these functions can be employed to generate various flavours of these palettes (with different emphases) and how they can be plugged into R graphics functions.

Choosing Color Palettes for Statistical Graphics

Statistical graphics are often augmented by the use of color coding information contained in some variable. When this involves the shading of areas (and not only points or lines)— e.g., as in bar plots, pie charts, mosaic displays or heatmaps—it is important that the colors are perceptually based and do not introduce optical illusions or systematic bias. Here, we discuss how the perceptually-ba...

Dynamic Tangible User Interface Palettes

Graphics editors often suffer from a large number of tool palettes that compete with valuable document space. To address this problem and to bring back physical affordances similar to a painter’s palette, we propose to augment a digital tabletop with spatially tracked handheld displays. These displays are dynamically updated depending on their spatial location. We introduce the concept of spati...
